MetMap

The Petal Plot is a novel visualization originally designed for representing and exploring the metastatic potential of cancer cell lines in collaboration with the Golub Lab (MetMap). Each petal represents one of five organs, with petal length encoding the potential of a cell line to metastasize, and the width encoding the penetrance of each. The shape of the petal naturally creates visual weight emphasizing the relationship between the two properties, allowing informative trends and patterns to emerge effectively.
